[ENG SUB] 〈

Light 2 (2007) is a key work from the artist’s early series, in which the rhythm of waves and the movement of color are condensed into the sensory experience of light. The dispersed points of color extend beyond descriptive form, visualizing the subtle flicker of light as emotion and perception gradually accumulate.

In this work, light is not treated as a physical phenomenon, but as a mode through which the artist perceives emotion and the world itself. Rather than reproducing the colors of reality, the artist translates landscapes apprehended through feeling into rhythms and densities of color. As individual points resonate and expand across the surface, subtle vibrations arise—capturing the moment in which the movement of waves is transformed into a sensory experience of light.

As light was inseparable from color for the Impressionists, color here functions as a conduit for emotion and perception. Light 2 occupies a foundational position in the artist’s practice, marking the point at which her exploration of “Landscapes of Sensation” begins to fully unfold, and offering a clear articulation of the density and direction of her early work.

※ Collector’s Note
Among the artist’s early works, 〈Light 2〉 is the most concentrated articulation of her formative visual language and sensory perception.
The rhythmic structure of dots, lines, and color established here becomes the foundation for subsequent developments, functioning as a reference point for understanding the trajectory of her practice.
