〈애도 I〉은 지난해 결류유산을 경험하며 시작된 작업이다.
처음 생명의 존재를 확인했을 때 들었던 ‘1cm라는 작은 원’으로 화면에 비워 둔 작은 원으로 남아 있다.
이 원은 한때 존재했던 생명의 자리이자 지금도 기억이 머무는 공간이다.
작가는 사라진 존재를 재현하려는 것이 아니라, 함께했던 시간을 작품으로 기억하고자 한다.
반복되는 수채의 점들은 사랑과 애도의 시간을 쌓아 올리는 행위이며, 떠나간 존재를 잊기보다 기억하며 살아가는 과정을 담고 있다.

<Mourning I> began with the experience of miscarriage last year.
The small circle left blank on the canvas represents the “tiny one-centimeter circle” that marked the first moment the artist became aware of the existence of life.
This circle is both a space once occupied by a life and a place where memory still remains.
Rather than attempting to recreate what has disappeared, the artist seeks to preserve the time they shared through the work.
The repeated watercolor dots embody the accumulation of time spent in love and mourning, capturing the process of remembering and continuing to live rather than forgetting the one who has departed.
