On a black ground, an autumn forest comes alive with light. Gold, green and crimson leaves crowd along the banks, thin white trunks rising through the color, while a dark stream flows down the center of the scene toward the viewer. Its surface is broken into hundreds of small white strokes — ripples catching a light that seems to come from the forest itself. Drawn in soft pastel on black board, this work lets the darkness remain: it is the night behind the trees and the depth beneath the water, against which autumn color burns brighter. A quiet, glowing passage through the woods — vivid, fleeting, and full of movement.
