At the far end of a forest pond, the trees open — and light pours in. / The pond fills most of the scene, calm and golden-green, broken only by a small cluster of dark rocks and the soft reflections of the banks. Thin bare branches reach across the glowing opening above, while the shores burn quietly in rust, ochre and deep green. / Painted in watercolor with loose, luminous washes and speckled texture, this work is about the reward at the end of still water: a hidden brightness, waiting in the woods.
Watercolor on Paper, 15 x 26 in. Imported from the artist's own Saatchi Art listing.
