In this painting, the sky is almost everything. / Vast layers of cloud fill the frame from top to bottom — grey and green above, softening into rose and pink, and finally into the warm orange of a setting sun at the lower edge. The earth appears only as a thin strip: utility poles, tangled wires, and a flock of small black birds lifting into the evening air. / Painted in watercolor with broad, fluid washes that let the colors bleed into one another, this work is about scale and humility — how small our streets and wires are beneath the weather, and how beautiful that smallness can be at dusk.
Watercolor on Paper, 15 x 27 in. Imported from the artist's own Saatchi Art listing.
